Bella Italia

Bella Italia, we are coming. Tomorrow I am packing, after tomorrow we are flying. It will be a long long trip for a short visit. We are going from Beijing via Frankfurt to Rome and from Rome to Lamezia. Can you believe that there is no Alitalia direct flight from the capital of China to the capital of Bella Italia? (Alitalia flies to Shanghai).

Anyway, in the following days we are getting closer to a decision for the color of the house. In the picture above (I have never seen the house from that perspective, nice! Thank you Angelo!), the two color probes on the right seems almost the same. I think we are going to decide on a lighter yellow (not a lighter pink), maybe...

Until I am posting something from Italy, you can enjoy the following pictures of beautiful houses in Bella Italia and follow the links to find more palazzi and ville. These gorgeous properties are for rent! Imagine you and your friends and family during summer time on the terrace of one of these dream homes. Salute!, Cheers!

  1. Looking at your beautiful home from that angle: I suggest making sure that whatever color you choose works well with your roof tiles. You might be in trouble with pink in that it could end up "too close but not close enough". I guess a pale bluish-purplish grey would be out of the question? The beautiful sea in the background and the color of the section under the roof line make me think of that.

  2. Hi Jean,
    thanks for the great comment!
What I forgot to mention: the roof tiles are not there yet! It is just the corrugated iron (Wellblech). So right, we must see the tiles first! They will be new with antique look. The color of the roof tiles is fixed by the commune. They are all a bit redish...

  3. Oh looking at the house, and all those FABULOUS, AMAZING villas to rent, all I could do is SIGH1 A big long Sigggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! We need to win the lottery.....

  4. Good luck on it all. I can't wait to see how everything unfolds.

  5. I would love to be there in a villa enjoying a meditteranean summer - but alas - I'm stuck in cold Hong Kong. Enjoy your trip!

  6. I hope you have a wondeful trip! I am so jealous!!

  7. Your house looks so wonderful. I cannot wait until you are finished! And thank you for the wonderful photos of the Italian villas. Maybe our next vacation? Sigh. :)

  8. I just came across your blog, thanks to P.O.C and the one word that comes to mind is JEALOUSY!!!! What a dream!!!!! I can't wait to see your progress. BTW, If you go with pink, I would add yellow for a more salmon color, or just yellow.
